Day Four - No performance enhancing drugs here!
18. July 2008

So into day four of the whole getting fitter thing and a pretty exemplar day with the exercise quota being completed by nine am! Fruit and fluid quotas were also met in a truely exciting day all-round!

A couple of you have already asked about quotas, so I’ll explain. The exercise quota is a progressive course, starting at the moment with around 20 minutes of jogging and 20 minutes of floor exercises and stretches which will grow over the next twenty weeks. Sunday is different because it is just a long jog, and on Monday it’s just floor exercises.

Fruit and fluid is a bit more simple, fruit and vegetables should form 5-9 portions a day in the average diet, and an average male should drink just over 2 litres of water a day, which not only helps hydration but attacks tiredness and keeps the brain going!

Just wanted to add something on the whol Dwain Chambers debate here - personally I support the BOA, and today I’ve spoken to a number of ex atheletes who agree. By taking drugs he KNEW were illegal, he forfitted the chance to represent us. I think that’s right and I think it sends a good message out to young people who might feel tempted to try and cut corners -don’t. Be interested to hear what you have to say….

Day Three - A little inspiration….
17. July 2008

….more needed!

So i’ve now actually watched the film run, fatboy, run - yeah who thought I’d actually come up with an original title! - was actually pretty inspirational. I do however worry that like Simon Pegg, I too will be crossing the finish line bloodied, disorientated, and eleven hours behind everyone else! All I need for the perfect inspiration is to find a stunning lady to stand at the finishing line beckoning me to cross with the offer of dinner….. applicants should be 18+ and should leave a comment / photo!

Today has been alright, got my fruit/veg in and the water, but failed on the exercise front. However tomorrow I’m going to try a distance jog, so that should be exciting! A lot of the day was taken travelling on trains which is either some form of mental exercise or torture!

Anyhoo, thanks for your comments, keep them coming…. and keep voting on how far I should be running in february, that poll closes at the end of August!! You can also visit the What’s going on here! page to discover more about what is going on here….. strange that!

Day Two - ups and downs
16. July 2008

Today has been a day of ups ands downs….

ups - water quota met! fruit and veg quota met! exercise quota met!
downs - eating a tad too much at the house group BBQ, feeling slightly lonely in my quest :(

Help me feel less lonely in my quest by leaving an encouraging comment or something - yeah that’ll be nice!
